Well, someone's going to ask eventually. What's the ranks and what's the post counts that go with them? Just collecting information for analysis, that's all.

Wouldn't you rather just be surprised? ;D
(Man this is dangerous! I accidentally hit Modify instead of Quote and briefly changed your post. I have to be more careful...)

I'll let you off this once, but if your hand slips again you'll get such a slap...............
And if you think calling me an Orderly means I'll be pushing that gurney around, you are very much mistaken, young man!

I noticed, thank you.
*takes bedpan, glares at it then throws it frisbee style into the corner*
loud satifying clanging sound as it impacts.

I've decided to be evil and pedantic and downright annoying by nitpicking. Do take with a pinch of salt, or whatever the appropriate metaphor I'm thinking of but may not have actually gotten quite right is. ;D Firstly: I mean, come on - EMH has got to be above Doctor in the rank stakes. Sure, StarFleet may not recognise the inherrant superiority of the EMH, but that doesn't mean we can't... Secondly: AFAIK, a departmental 2IC is known as a Deputy, or something similar, not an exec... it saves confusion. There can only be one Exec and one Captain on a ship. You don't want to tell some poor officer to find the Exec only to have them bring back the deputy chief of their department. (Told you I was nitpicking. Mind you, I may actually be wrong on this point ). Third and final: Putting nurse as only one step above a medic... tsk tsk tsk. Have you ever known a nurse that hasn't had to wipe the nose and hold the hand of the doctor in charge? I beleive you have some first hand experience in this Doc and you should know better. Nurses belong on a copletely seperate ranking table somewhere above the mere mortals that are doctors. Of course, given family ties and a desire for friendd to allow me to continue living, I could be biased...

Nurses belong on a copletely seperate ranking table somewhere above the mere mortals that are doctors. Of course, given family ties and a desire for friendd to allow me to continue living, I could be biased... Last I recall, your nurse character fried me into a mobile emitter on the Plato So what's a little nitpicking? In Starfleet, the XMO is beneath the CMO, just as the XO is beneath the CO. Unless you check on the collar (or the sleeve on TOS), one rarely knows the rank of a doctor on Star Trek because they're just called "Doctor" (or "Bones" on TOS). Next: The EMH, regardless of the expertise, is neither a commissioned officer nor found in the chain of command. At best he/she/it's a stand-in for whatever. As for the nurse: why should I leave the position out? Would you have said something if I had omitted it? We know that the nurse - as the EMH - is a highly underrated individual. But they do have a place in Sickbay, and I think I've put them in the right position with regard to their official worth. No?
