This seems to be a fairly common thread among some of the other BBSs I visit. Valentine's Day, love it or leave it; its tomorrow. Anyone have any plans ? I'll post my own, when I figure them out. PS I am single, so don't expect some trashy tabloid post from me. ( But, ah if only it could be so ! ) ;D

Well, I don't expect anything myself except maybe some ecard from my acronym team and maybe a friend or two. Actually, the cocapt of the team sent everyone a Stuart Little 2 ad in the guise of an eValentine (CRINGE) thus far. And I know I should have made the eValentines to select friends in advance and set the dates for today, but of course I didn't and this morning the ecard site is overloaded and not taking anyone new on it (maybe using all their bandwidth for recipients to view?). So I'll have to get creative or alternative. Seven & I pitched in on a doll and card I will give to our friend who's been hospitalized since December. She's doing well, but I think she could use some more color in her life. And an hour or so of my inimitable dry wit.

I will probably work for a majority of the day today and try not to think about Valentine's Day, try not to think about it, try not to think about it! I might drop in on a gal I am friends with; she is single too. That will bring me to the late evening, where I'll probably be hanging out on the net, perhaps catching the late night Voyager re-run.

Well, my wife and I used to celebrate with romantic furor, but now we have two kids with birthdays within two days of the Holiday of Love...so she's baking today and I'll be wrapping presents when I get home. Add to that the fact that my wife can't eat chocolate while she's breastfeeding (it gives my daughter terrible cramps) and it takes some of the excitment out of the day.
We've taken to celebrating our romance the week after Valentine's Day...usually with a nice quiet dinner for two, flowers, and a box of licorice candies. ;D

They usually come in bags here from some obscure company. Me, I'm no fan of the stuff. I remember the confusuion to my senses when I encountered anise as a centerpiece for something at an event: celery that smells and tastes like licorice and wondering why they always make the candy black. But I digress... The visit was a success. She's into Elmo and so far people had sent her monkeys and a bear, so Seven & I hit it just right. She was not going to let go of that doll! We know she has a few Elmos at home, but it will be some time before she's ready to leave. Not doubt the Elmo we got her makes her feel more at home. Sort of. Anyway, her reaction to our gift was very satisfying. I ended up spending two hours with her (that's a lot of dry wit in both directions when you think about it).

Glad the hospital visit went well...I'm sure it was very, very appreciated. Ah I remember you in that licorice thread at speckled duck. They usually come in bags here from some obscure company. Me, I'm no fan of the stuff... Me either...but it runs a distant second to chocolate in my love's estimation, so that's what she gets until my little princess is weaned.

Ahhh. ^^
It was a quiet day here. Well, I was working and he had the 'flu. And we don't do the mutual cards thing. No need.
He cooked me a pizza for dinner though. That's about as good as it gets. We have an anniversary and two birthdays within a month so Valentines is basically irrelevant.
