here in GMT-land we get an hour's sleep stolen from us this Sunday. 0200GMT will magically become 0300BST. Yawn. and talking of Sunday.... How do they know it’s Easter? Ever wondered how the exact dates of the Easter break are chosen? Easter Sunday can fall anytime between 22 March and 25 April and, thanks to European observations of the Sun that go back many centuries, the exact date can be predicted as far ahead as 4099 AD. Looks like for a week you'll be 6 hrs ahead of us. We're going into EDT on the 7th.
I wonder when Jekyl becomes 12 hrs from here?

I've never been able to figure out why most of Europe leaps forward and falls back a week ahead of the U.S. I just wish they'd quit doing it on Resurrection Sunday -- this is the second year in a row. It wreaks havoc with people trying to get to sunrise services on time.

Where's the disguise? Although, you know, I've never thought of it that way...I wonder...if everyone slept in, maybe God would make the sun come up an hour later? ;D

It wreaks havoc with people trying to get to sunrise services on time. Holding an all night vigil might help............

As for daylight savings in Oz - I think the swapover for winter is tomorrow. WA and one other state, I believe, have no truck with the damn thing, so we're alternatly two or three hours behind the other side of the country. I'm, surprised they turn back the clock on Easter Sunday - makes a lot more sense to do it at the begining of the month to my mind, than to do it the last day of the previous. *shrugs*

They always move the clock here last Sunday in March and back to real time last Sunday in October.
Why not September? Dunno. It would even out the year better I think.
As Easter is early this year, they coincide. *shrugs*

As Easter is early this year, they coincide. *shrugs* Easter is early this year because the Last Supper was a seder, and they want Easter to be on a Sunday which falls on Passover. Since Passover is determined by the lunar calendar, it jumps around. You'd rather have more daylight at night, so they give us as much as possible. That's why saylight saving's time it's closer to 7 months instead of 6. I remember it used to be end of April, and they moved it back. Now we're a week out of sync.

I stand corrected: I just read in the TV guide that in fact we did make the swap today - or at least the other states did. No wonder the Muppet Show isn't on when it should be...

That was most unpleasant.
Welp, glad that's over with.
I just have to somehow make myself go to bed early tonight...

For the first time ever, we forgot to change our clocks. Luckily, no one was late for anything but I felt guilty sleeping so late. Besides, we made a mad rush around the house to reset the clocks. I've heard of time flying, but that was crazy!
