Is starting to get real strange. Here's one from some geneology spammer:
"We have important information on the Zimmerman family..."
Half the time, they call me EMH for a first name. I don't have "EMH" as a first name in any profile.
And I never used to get so much spam from Yahoo.
I did however catch a hidden area of my Yahoo profile with a new area called "marketing preferences," with all choices switched for me to receive everything.
Beware and check in your Account info under Options if you use Yahoo for mail. Edit the personal info and you'll find that link to spam permissions. Uncheck and say "no" to everything. It might not be too late.

My mailbox is still empty. But then I got a Yahoo ID only comparatively recently, and I am fairly strict about reading everything and checking/unchecking boxes all over the place.
And I never join directory lists...................

Go to that area I described anyway. The settings are supposed to take effect next week. That means the Big Mail hasn't started yet.

I know what it is, it's the Yahoo Delivers service that you have to say Yes to before you can use POP forwarding or pick up your mail via your PC email programme!
I added the Yahoo mail address to OE yesterday. So easy! I will now wait and see if any 'junk' arrives. Shouldn't, because I modified the choices today.

Switch to msn. There you can set your email settings to block this type of spam.
