Talking with the Doc, it occured to me how my screen name has an important aspect in how I manifest my spirituality. In my life outside of cyberspace, I am a very spiritual person. And this is no different in character either. Ro, being a bajoran Vedek, embraces the faith of the Prophets. In some ways, the fictional aspect of being in character allows me to explore aspects of my spirituality outside of the normal paradigms of beleif. To me, this is important, as it helps you get to the core of your being free of preconceptions of a pre-existing spiritual path. As Ro, I can not only embrace the Prophets and walk with them, I can also explore new ways of bringing them into my life by expanding on the existing material. This is a challenge, but in the end is very rewarding and often helps me to alleviate stress in my life.
I am wondering if any others have explored spiritual aspects while in character?

Just give me the opportunity and watch me go with it.

I don't think in my case my character influences me spiritually. If any, he reflects my more scientific take on what others consider supernatural phenomenon, and an overall neutrality with regard to coexisting among a multitude of faiths in a single community. The difference is that in the 24th century, there are no major campaigns geared towards sucking in cultures and populace with propaganda that one faith is right, everybody else's is wrong, and nonbelievers are doomed (with the exception of the Borg of course).
Mutual respect among cultures and competent medical care. I was definitely born at the wrong time. :/

As a neophyte RPG participant, my character is largely me at present. So when and if the opportunity arises for attitudes to such matters to surface, they will be expressed in the way I think they might exist in C24. But they will be my beliefs, like them or not.
