Chakotay's Gray: Yea or Nay?

I'm curious. What do you think about Chakotay's hair? It started off gray. Then I Beltran dyed his hair black.

Which did/do you prefer?

I like the salt and pepper, it was distinguished - and different from the rest of the cast.

But someone decided he looked too old...

Shame.

I prefer Chakotay with the really short cropped hair that was dusted with gray. The longer brushed back style in jet black really looked over done.
If for no other reason to have kept his hair with the gray, it gives a sense that perhaps he has been through a lot of stress in his life.
(Besides...just having gray hair doesn't mean the person is old. I started getting white hair when I was 21.)

Well, objectively speaking, it looked more as though he had been there, and with it the hard edge of experience that comes with leadership - enough leadership to have Starfleet send a ship after his little vehicle. On him it told a story. Also he wasn't supposed to look too young.
