Hello, everybody!
Been thinking about Trek boards over the last few weeks but really couldn't bring myself to return to the Board from Hell. One side had this addict's urge to start talking Trek again but the rational side kept reminding me what a waste of valuable time squabbling with little kids had been. And then, lo and behold, Holodoc emails me with this new board, and here I am!
2 questions, to kick off: as it was sooooo long ago, how did you remember all the good guys' email addresses? And, can I have my old name back, please? This board won't accept such a long name, but I'd really like to be in the red shirt...
Also, please forgive me in advance if my Voyager nitpicking knowledge is rusty... haven't had much call to check up on details lately, will have to start renting the old vids out again I suppose! Here, in Australia, at least where I live, we still haven't had the Endgame tape issued, and Enterprise has not aired on TV or on tape (all copies gratefully received from funny foreign lands!)
So, hello and hugs to everybody, good to see you all survived!

OK, getting the hang of this now... have changed my name so don't need advice on that... any other advice gratefully recieved, particularly on spelling, fashion and warp field mechanics...

Also, please forgive me in advance if my Voyager nitpicking knowledge is rusty... haven't had much call to check up on details lately, will have to start renting the old vids out again I suppose! Here, in Australia, at least where I live, we still haven't had the Endgame tape issued, and Enterprise has not aired on TV or on tape (all copies gratefully received from funny foreign lands!) Welcome, Ensign in the Red Shirt! As you may know, Americans who reside outside UPN's rerun jurisdiction are out of luck if they don't remember their Voyager from its first and second broadcasts. For video, they're up to mid-3rd season with many in the more recent half of that already discontinued. If we'd have known... So, consider yourself fortunate and count those blessings and places which offer the PAL eps through Renaissance Man for rent. wtg and glad you made it. I rummaged through my Yahoo "Sent" folder to get rid of that quota nag, when I saw a couple of Emails I couldn't track down when I started this here board back in 2378 - I mean... hm. Carry the two, add the 47... Anyhow, I thought: " there they are!" and wasted no time. It will be tricky snapping up the Voyager fans for whom this can be the bashless home they've only dreamed about and never thought was possible. Because if mention is made on those boards, then I'll have to actually start moderating. btw, EitRS (or may I just call you Redshirt?): if you haven't checked already, there is a guide to keystrokes which will allow you to put other smilies into your post. It's in the Bedside Manner section. Enjoy your stay, and we look forward to that additional element in our fervent debates...

Welcome aboard, Ensign, from a fellow Aussie. Which particular board from hell are we talking about here? I know of several Dr. Jekyl? Let's not encourage foul language on this board.

Hello Ensign, and welcome aboard. I know I've seen that userid around elsewhere. Join the party here, it's rather good.

Hi Thanks for the welcome! Generally, people knew me as "Ensign" although several ruder versions were used in the other place!
Got several topics in mind but slightly less time than I anticipated... 3 days of leave coming up, maybe I'll get lucky with the old peace and quiet thing. Also several topics in mind from the other place that started well and then degenerated into chaos.
Dr. Jekyl - which particular part of this land of milk and honey are you from? Everyone else - how quickly will you get bored with daily sunshine reports from the Tropics? Fresh coconuts anyone?

Generally, people knew me as "Ensign" although several ruder versions were used in the other place! I think most of us were as well. I'm thinking maybe just using the whole name whenever possible, but now I know what to fall back on. Thanks We've got a couple dozen topics in Captain's Log we're just dying to see you add your uniqueness to - don't forget! I hope you find the time to bask in the Voyagerness of it all. er? Tropics? What part of Australia are you from again? The Great Barrier Reef is it?

Yup, I live in the little village that is the closest mainland to the Great Barrier Reef. It is the only place on this great blue planet where two World Heritage parks meet (the Rainforest and the Reef) and it is the home of fresh air and colour! Apart from that, life goes on...
I will comment on the topics that you have already started, and I have to say that you have put a lot of energy into pushing this thing into action. Well done! As you all know, time to play on the internet comes in waves and I've been at low tide recently.

Feel free with the weather reports - and the flora you can report on in Airponics.......... It'll make an interesting contrast to this hemisphere

Why, I'm from the best and only bit to be in - the Western bit. Perth, specifically.
Mind you, I wouldn't say no to living in the tropics again - provided people refrain from forcing pineapples and coconuts upon me (mangoes are more than welcome).

(mangoes are more than welcome). Mangoes are the living end.

Pineapples, coconuts, mangos (I'm pretty sure that, for some reason, there is no 'e' in the plural but I could be wrong) all taste better with rum, a spot of cream, some ice, a blender, and some more rum. And maybe a little paper umbrella. Dr.Jekyl, you guys make the best wine over there but I have never visited personally. Still too much to see in the rainforest and the reef. BTW, going out to the outer reef tomorrow for some snorkelling. Pretty coral, stunning fishes, topless babes...

I'll visit Queensland one day when I have money... knowing me, I'll probably end up living there. Rainforrest... mmm.... We could really do with some rain. Or at the least some proper weather. The dam at my school is bone dry, and the drinking water levels are getting lower by the day, but at least we've had an unusually mild summer - not a day over 40. Didn't even reach the old century mark, something that's not happened for forty-odd years.
