Smooth blues or funky colors? What do you see?
« Thread Started on Feb 8, 2002, 10:19am »

Then let me know whether you see this board in all blues  as it is meant to be seen, or in blues, dark red, greens, etc. There is a webscripting system which causes color conflicts in older browsers, and apparently not everybody is seeing the board as it should be seen.

In your post, please also mention what sort of OS you're using to access the Internet (Mac OS8, Linux 6, Win3.1, Win98SE, DOS6, etc), and the browser type you clicked on.

(Note to Neoplanet users: Neoplanet is merely a façade over IE. Select the IE version you own)

Win2000 with IE6.

It's very very blue. A little unremitting IMO, very soothing for a rest room but it could do with a splash of colour somewhere other that those darned adverts......

edit
and a little more contrast between new posts and no new posts..............

Well, I wouldn't mind the speed or added space. But I just want to upgrade to Win98SE (and only because things like Windows Media Player aren't being made in newer versions for Win95b. I happen to like the OS I have). XP is too Big Brother for my taste. I like to be boss of my computer ;)

98SE is very stable and reliable.

2000 is based on NT which is what you'd use in a networked office, and is pretty good too.

Sadly the other half is talking about XP, but hopefully just for his laptop. He teaches this stuff to beginners so I suppose he has to keep up with developments...

Encourage him to do just that. Don't change beyond 98SE unless you have to; it isn't worth the newfound stability - yet. Naturally, if you're dealing with all new equipment as with Ensign in the Red Shirt, it might just be the thing to do at that stage. ME was bad 98 and very flaky (ask Dr Jekyl ;) ). 2000 was just bad NT, and I know of many companies who went back to NT after trying it.

thinks about the email that went around the company this week - about the upgrade to NT6.4....................

But then, with xx000 PC's to do, it's bound to be a little late.
